The heart of Hogwarts, so to speak, the Great Hall is a large room that caters for every member of Hogwarts. Banners of each house line the walls and there are four tables for the seperate houses, too. With the enchanted ceiling, it's a lovely place to eat your meals; plus, the Hall is also where most balls and dances take place, as well.

Technically, you're here to learn, right? You're not going to learn if you spend all day gallivanting around the castle and breaking rules--so hop to it and go to your classes!

Shelves upon shelves of books: the supply of knowledge is never-ending! The Library is a place of wisdom and peace, especially since Madam Pince keeps everything in order. Most students come here to complete assignments set by their teachers, but some come here to read. Imagine that; if you curl up in a corner with a book, the world will disappear...

Hubble, bubble, toil and trouble--the Dungeons are mostly deserted because of their cold and musty state. Potion classes usually take place here (perhaps Potion teachers have a thing for gloomy places?) and it's usually always dark, so watch your step.

Some rooms just can't be properly categorized, so they end up here in 'Assorted Rooms'. This is where you can find rooms like the Room of Requirement, empty classrooms, and the room that contains the Mirror of Erised.

The Tower often feels the full weight of the blustery winds that blow during the winter. It's home to the Owlery if you want to send a letter to someone, otherwise it's a place where one can think on their own and sort out their thoughts... if you can stand the cold, that is.

Home to those who value intelligence, learning and wit, those of the Ravenclaw house generally have a sharp mind and a creative streak. The Common Room is decorated in rich blues and bronzes, and with shelves lined with books, one really can't go wrong here.

Those who value hard work, friendship and patience are welcome the Common Room's walls. Decorated nicely in yellows and blacks, the Hufflepuff Common Room generally holds an aura of loyalty and perseverence that no other house has. If fair play is something you believe in, welcome to the Common Room and enjoy your stay.

Ah, the Quidditch Pitch! Home to the toughest sport in the Wizarding World, here you can watch the four houses battle it out for the school's very own cup. It can often be a vicious sport, but it's a very quick-moving one, so be sure to bring some omnioculars and wrap up warm!

Sit by the lake and do some studying, maybe, on a nice day. If you get permission from a teacher you can go swimming... but beware of the giant squid! Actually, have no fear. He's pretty much a big baby.

The Whomping Willow. Now there's a tree you don't want to get on the wrong side of; it packs a nasty smack when you get too close. The Willow's been known to break a few bones (and cars, if you count a certain Potter and Weasley escapade), but nothing too serious, for example, deaths.

This forest is filled with the dark and the dank and the dangerous. Students are not allowed to go into these woods, and even if they did it would be questionable whether they would come out again.

Hagrid's Hut, home to the school's gamekeeper: Hagrid. He's friendly enough, if a bit slow at times, but he's got a heart of gold. Known for keeping strange creatures and heading into the Forbidden Forest from time to time, it's best not to get on the wrong side of the gameskeeper. However, if he likes you, feel free to pop in and visit him - he won't mind.

Get your school supplies here! You may also come here during the year for miscalanious shopping, or to restock on quill, ink and other things you might need.
